When it comes to creating a kitchen that exudes luxury and sophistication, the devil is in the details.
At The Build Bristol Group, we understand that your kitchen isn’t just a functional space, it’s the heart of your home. For our clients who demand nothing short of perfection in their Bristol homes, incorporating gold accents is a surefire way to add a touch of opulence.
In this blog, we explore how you can seamlessly introduce gold accents into your kitchen design, ensuring a timeless appeal.
Gold Hardware and Fixtures
Swap out standard cabinet knobs and drawer pulls for gold hardware to make an instant impact. Whether you opt for brushed, polished, or matte finishes, gold hardware is a versatile choice that pairs beautifully with both traditional and modern kitchen designs. Consider gold faucets and sink fixtures to create a cohesive, high-end look.
Gold Lighting Fixtures
Lighting is a crucial element in any design, especially in a kitchen. Gold lighting fixtures, such as pendant lights or chandeliers, serve as both functional pieces and statement-making décor. The warm glow of gold will not only illuminate your kitchen but also enhance the richness of the overall design.
Backsplash and Tiles
Elevate your kitchen walls with a gold-accented backsplash or tiles. Whether you choose intricate gold patterns or simple gold-lined tiles, this addition will create a focal point that draws the eye and adds a layer of luxury to your kitchen. Pairing gold tiles with neutral tones like white or grey will allow the gold to truly shine.
Gold Accented Appliances
Consider investing in appliances that feature gold accents. From ovens with gold handles to refrigerators with gold trim, these high-end appliances are works of art that bring a sense of exclusivity to your kitchen.
Decorative Accessories
Sometimes, it’s the small touches that make the biggest difference. Gold vases, fruit bowls, or utensil holders can add subtle elegance to your kitchen countertops. These accessories are perfect for those who want to dip their toes into the gold trend without committing to larger changes.
Gold Bar Stools and Chairs
Upgrade your seating with gold bar stools or chairs. Whether your style leans towards modern minimalism or classic elegance, gold seating options are available in a range of designs to suit your taste. These pieces not only provide comfort but also serve as stylish accents that elevate the entire space.
Open Shelves with Gold Brackets
Open shelving is a popular trend in kitchen design, offering both functionality and a platform for showcasing your style. Adding gold brackets to your open shelves can subtly introduce gold into your kitchen, offering support while enhancing the overall aesthetic.
Artwork and Wall Décor
Don’t overlook the power of artwork and wall décor in your kitchen. Gold-framed art, mirrors with gold accents, or even gold-accented wall hangings can tie together the different elements of your kitchen design, creating a cohesive and luxurious look.
At The Build Bristol Group, we specialise in creating bespoke luxury spaces that reflect the unique tastes and lifestyles of our clients. Whether you’re building a new home or renovating an existing space, our expert design and construction team is here to bring your vision to life. From the initial concept to the final finishing touches, we work closely with you to ensure that every detail is perfect.

Celebrating International Women’s Day with The Build Bristol Group

In a world where steel structures and concrete foundations dominate skylines, it's often easy to overlook the women who play pivotal roles in shaping our built environment.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, it’s a fitting time to shine a spotlight on the incredible women behind our brand. Including designers and suppliers, those we choose to work with are a testament to the fact that there is no limit to what women can accomplish.
The statistics speak volumes: in an industry predominantly occupied by men, women make up only a fraction of the workforce. A mere 10.3 percent of construction professionals are women, with even fewer found on the front lines of job sites. But here at The Build Bristol Group, we defy those odds. We proudly stand as the only female-led and owned design and build company in Bristol.
Yesterday, we hosted a lunch to celebrate the remarkable women who contribute their expertise, creativity, and determination to our projects. It was a moment of solidarity, where stories were shared, success was celebrated, and aspirations were ignited.
For Hannah Walkiewicz, the journey to founding The Build Bristol Group hasn’t been without its challenges. In an industry where male-led competitors often dominate the landscape, she’s had to carve her own path. But through perseverance and a steadfast commitment to excellence, she’s proven time and again that gender is no barrier to success.
As we mark International Women’s Day, let us not only celebrate the achievements of women in construction but also redouble our efforts to create a more inclusive and equitable industry. Let us continue to break ground, both literally and figuratively, until every woman can reach her full potential.
In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “Well-behaved women seldom make history.” And here at The Build Bristol Group, we’re proud to push industry boundaries to achieve the very best results. We’re trailblazers, pioneers, and visionaries—and we’re just getting started. So, here’s to the women who build our world, one brick at a time. Happy International Women’s Day, 2024.

The Garden Studio Project on Dorset Road, Henleaze

At the heart of the quaint Dorset Road in Henleaze lies a testament to bespoke craftsmanship and thoughtful design—a stunning garden studio constructed by Build Bristol Group.
This unique venture into building a space that harmonises work, leisure, and storage reflects BBG’s versatility beyond their typical scope of renovations and extensions.
The Dorset Road project began with a family’s evolving needs. A picturesque Victorian house, nestled at the end of the row, boasted an expansive garden. Faced with the demand for a home office and a dedicated area for teenagers to unwind, the family engaged the expertise of Bristol-based architect Alison Turner. Her task: to envision a garden studio that seamlessly blended with the surroundings while meeting the diverse requirements.
The architectural vision materialised into a space that transcends the ordinary. Siberian Larch cladding, a cedar chippings roof, and sleek aluminum frames were meticulously chosen to integrate the studio with the lush garden, creating a visually striking ambiance. Build Bristol embraced this unique challenge with enthusiasm, deviating from their usual repertoire of renovations and extensions.
The project not only addressed the practical needs of the family but also became a celebration of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The studio houses a functional home office and also provides a tranquil space for teenagers to unwind. Storage, a crucial component of a city outbuilding, was seamlessly incorporated into the design, showcasing Build Bristol’s commitment to practicality.
Upon completion, the clients were effusive in their praise for Build Bristol. According to them, ‘the company’s standard of work and attention to detail set them apart. When challenges arose, the BBG team exhibited professionalism, working collaboratively to swiftly resolve issues. The reliability of having builders on-site throughout the entire process, rather than being shuffled to other projects midway, was a notable point of satisfaction.
Dom and Hannah, the faces behind Build Bristol, were described as approachable and personable, adding a human touch to the construction process.’ The clients not only recommend Build Bristol highly but express a willingness to engage their services again—a testament to the positive experience of bringing their dream garden studio to life.
In conclusion, the Dorset Road project stands as a testament to the creativity, adaptability, and professionalism of The Build Bristol Group. As they continue to push boundaries and embark on diverse projects, the completion of this garden studio project reaffirms their commitment to turning architectural dreams into tangible, beautifully crafted realities.
